The Pembroke County Cricket Club have confirmed that cricket clubs in Pembrokeshire will be allowed to bring the start times of their league games forward tomorrow.

The decision has been made with the Wales v Slovakia Euro 2016 game in mind, that kicks off at 5pm.

Just after 10.30pm last (Thursday) night, PCCC secretary Steve Blowes sent an e-mail to all clubs stating the following:

"Any club wishing to arrange their matches on 11 June to start at 12pm (in order to be able to watch the Wales football match being played later that day) may do so providing:

"John Harries and myself are informed before midnight Friday.

"Both clubs agree to the arrangement.

"In Division 1 and 2 the umpires agree.

"If clubs agree to start at 12pm, that is the official time and cannot be moved back to 1.30pm or 1.45pm."

However, while the decision has been welcomed by many, some have criticised the late notice.

Umpire Dave Brandon has already declared that the Llanrhian v Haverfordwest game in Division 1 will have to start at 1.30pm as planned, as he has prior Saturday morning commitments.

Another one that won't be moved is Lawrenny v Whitland, with many of the players involved having already arranged to work in the morning.
