Hope you’re all well. It’s been another quiet one for me to be honest.

I’ve been taking it easy after my little bump to the head against Northampton the weekend before last.

Unfortunately I missed out on the game against Racing on the weekend.

You’re probably aware, as there’s so much talk in the press about it at the moment that we have to follow a Return to Play Protocol after concussion.

Basically what this is is a series of little test we have to undergo to make sure we’re ok to come back to play.

You answer the questions, and do the little tests at the start of the season and then those results are used as markers if you ever have to do them again because of concussion.

I was obviously disappointed to miss out on the game but in these situations you have to trust the medical guys and the doctors and leave it in their hands. I’m hoping to make it back for this weekend.

We were all disappointed with the result on the weekend. It’s difficult for me to comment as I wasn’t out there with the guys but I think the overall feeling is that we gave them too much. We allowed them to turnover the ball too easily and they took their opportunities when they got them.
We’ll learn from it. It’s always difficult after results like that but we will come back into training with our minds fully focused on Zebre this weekend and a return to PRO12 action.

We’re definitely looking forward to getting back on track in the league. We have two big games in the PRO12, against Zebre this Sunday at the Parc and then away to Treviso the following week, where we need to pick up points to stay in the top four and keep us in a strong position ahead of the festive derbies.

If you were in doubt that Christmas is just around the corner Monday morning’s frost would have been a chilly reminder!

If you are coming to the game on Sunday, which I hope you all are, make sure you get extra layers on, some gloves, a hat and a scarf!
