Tenby 2

Pennar Robins 4

PENNAR Robins have moved up to joint top of the table after this excellent win against Tenby at the Clicketts.

The Robins have really hit form of late, and they were extremely good value for their three points thanks to the quality of Adam John’s impressive individual performance.

The striker scored twice and also had a hand in the two other goals scored by the Robins.

On the flip side of the coin Tenby were expected to push for the title this season, considering they won the Senior Cup at the end of last season, but their form has dipped, only winning twice from six outings.

John opened the scoring in the fifth minute, the striker nonchalantly striking the ball past Carl Woodhouse as the visitors led one-nothing at half time.

The second goal was a little fortuitous as John’s shot flew off the boot of Tenby defender Owen Coombs via the net.

There was a glimmer of hope for Tenby when Sam Christopher pulled a goal back, but again the Robins responded as John slotted home from inside the box.

Tenby got caught pushing forward as the Robins countered and substitute Carl Rees made no mistake following a swift counter attack.

Jack Christopher grabbed a late goal for Tenby, but by that stage the Robins already had the points safely tucked in the bag.
