Cresselly (252 all out) drew with St Ishmaels (204 for 9)

THERE were runs aplenty at Cresselly as the home side belted a huge 252 all out with three balls remaining and St Ishmaels battled all the way before ending up still needing another 49 runs but with their overs used up and their last pair at the crease.

Cresselly showed their array of batting ability as Phil Williams (39), Harry Thomas (22), Simon Cole (31) and Mike Shaw (26) posted cameo innings as Iwan Izzard again demonstrated his batting power as he lashed ten fours and three big sixes before he was finally dismissed for an excellent 79.

Andrew Pawlett’s slow stuff gave him a creditable 5 for 69 haul in 12 overs and there were wickets for Matthew Phillips (1 for 44), Danny Flynn (2 for 43), Robbie Thomas (1 for 31) and Andrew Palmer (1 for 30), making a welcome return to action for Tish.

Brennan Devonald (four fours and three sixes in his 56) was joined By Jonathan Pawlett (six fours and three sixes in his 51) batted really well for Tish but only Andrew Williams (17) stayed long otherwise against Tom Arthur (2 for 32), Harry Thomas (1 for 19), Stefan Jenkins (1 for 45), plus ‘spin twins’ Mike Shaw (3 for 34) and Simon Cole (2 for 28).
