VOTERS in one Pembrokeshire parish can say ‘cheers’ to their referendum result today, thanks to a local company.

For when they turn out for the Euro poll, they are also being invited to cast their vote for a bottle of their favourite tipple.

Templeton Beer Wine and Spirit Co is using voting day as a way of reaching potential local customers for their on-line national delivery service, Templetondirect.

Explained managing director Lyndon Belt: “We are holding our own European v Rest of World poll on referendum day.

“We’re inviting every eligible voter in our constituency to choose their favourite drink from a list, and in exchange for their email address, we will then give them a no-olbigation free bottle of their chosen drink. All scores will be noted on a Eurovision-style score board and the results will be emailed to the voters when the count is complete.”

Voting cards will be going out to every home in the parish of Narberth South ahead of the election, with the ‘polling station’ at the company headquarters at Goose Green, Templeton.

Voters can take their pick of red, white, or rose wine; lager or ale with Chile, Italy, the USA, Mexico and Wales represented.
