Pembroke Dock Town council could soon have a new home for its offices if a proposal to be heard this evening is agreed.

The town council, based at the town’s Pater Hall, has previously been in discussion with the Pater Hall Trust about moving the upstairs staff office to the downstairs Warrior Room at the Pater Hall for improved disabled access, along with other changes.

Members had previously heard the Pater Hall Trust was intending to install a partition wall, allowing the town council to host both its offices and its meetings in the Warrior Room.

At the September meeting of the council, members heard the office space would be smaller than the existing upstairs office.

Clerk Sarah Scourfield raised concerns about the tendering process and that the council wouldn’t have exclusive use of the room.

Councillor Andrew McNaughton said a recent temporary move by the council to nearby Dimond Street had shown an office move was possible.

A proposal, by Councillor Don Earl, is due to be heard at this evening’s meeting.

Cllr Earl proposes: “...that the council instruct our staff to actively search out suitable office premises for the use of the town council within the confines of Pembroke Dock.”

The council was due to meet with the Trust on Monday, September 28.

The proposal will be considered at this evening’s meeting, held at the Pater Hall’s Warrior Room.
