Pembrokeshire's civic amenity and recycling centres are changing their opening hours today (Thursday).

From this morning, the sites will operate new winter opening hours.

All six will be closed for two weekdays per week – although the nearest alternative site will always be open.

All sites will remain open at weekends, although Sundays will operate on reduced hours.

All sites will revert to being open seven days a week during the summer.

Winsel (on the old Hakin Road, Haverfordwest) Crane Cross (near Saundersfoot) and Manorowen near Fishguard/Goodwick will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Hermon, St Davids and Waterloo in Pembroke Dock will close on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Councillor Huw George, cabinet member for environmental and regulatory services, said savings needed to be made.

“We did not take the decision to close these sites for two days a week lightly,” he said.
