A CHARITY in Milford Haven that works to feed and clothe local families has been hit by vandals twice in the last fortnight.

Pembrokeshire Action To Combat Hardship (PATCH) has had its 'growing patch' vegetable garden project targeted on two occasions.

Damage to plants and vegetables at the allotment was carried out sometime overnight on Thursday, July 9, and a second attack was reported to police on Monday, July 20.

Vandals pulled up more than two dozen young plants, which are intended to supplement the food PATCH provides for local clients who are experiencing hardship.

Tracy Olin, PATCH co-ordinator, said it was very disheartening that people had undone the hard work of volunteers.

"It is mindless vandalism," she said.

"The volunteers put in a lot of hard work planting these for clients who have nothing.

“Other people’s response has been phenomenal, as always, with many offering to get replacement plants.”

Anyone who has information about these incidents, or who has witnessed anything suspicious in the area is urged to contact police in Milford Haven on 101.
